The project aims to promote a mutual understanding of the respective semiconductor supply chains and policies in order to facilitate future actions to strengthen a bilateral strategic partnership in the sector.
This joint initiative between the European Union and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovations (MCTI) pursues to stimulate the promotion of public policies and incentives for the development of public and/or private research looking towards challenges and opportunities, promoting technical, institutional and business co-operation in the semiconductor and integrated circuit sector.
In addition, it also endeavours to boost the creation of bilateral financing programmes for business ventures within the semiconductor ecosystem and to enable strategies for the creation of new businesses and companies between Brazil and the European Union.
Among the results collected in the study, it is foreseen to increase commercial relations between European and Brazilian companies for the acquisition of goods, products and services, in order to reduce dependence on other countries for semiconductor components.
