The Minister also pointed out that the study will contribute to the preparation of public policies for e-commerce, which has unique characteristics and requires specific measures to advance. “We understand that actions like that acknowledge how important e-commerce in small and medium-sized companies is to for development. According to Marcos Pereira, this is a sector that grows at impressive annual rates and is, nowadays, greatly relevant to the growth of the retail sector in a macroeconomic scenario”.
In his speech, Gleisson Cardoso Rubin, Secretary for Management of the MP, said that the Sector Dialogues Project is a successful case in the context of international cooperation. “Seventy actions are supported by the current call. They are distributed in 24 theme areas and involve 29 Brazilian ministries and federal agencies and 21 similar European institutions”, he said. Pedro Santos, First Councillor at DELBRA's Division for Trade and Investments, stated that the theme is very relevant to the European Union and that this cooperation between European and Brazilian institutions favours development in this sector. According to Pedro Santos, “The study will be important to encourage the internationalization of small and medium-sized businesses, in view of the challenges presented by fast-paced advances in technology and constant change in norms and standards”.
