8th Luso-Brazilian Conference on Open Access
ConfOA is one of the actions as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministers of Science and Technology of Portugal and Brazil in October 2009, in which the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT / Portugal), University of Minho (UMinho / Portugal) and the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT / Brazil) are the institutions of the organizing committee of the Conference.
The Open Access discussion addresses dynamic possibilities. In this context, the eighth edition will approach the legal, political and practical milestones, from digital repositories to scientific journals. Doubts about trends in communication and scientific dissemination, as well as on copyright and intellectual property will also be considered.
One of the projects supported by the Sector Dialogues within this theme, "From international structuring standards of research to Indicators", developed by the IBICT in partnership with the University of Minho, presented during the Conference. Titled “Management of Integrated Repositories”, the workshop was led by the trainers Jose Carvalho, Raquel Truta - University of Minho and Taina Assis – IBICT.
Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), on its campus of Manguinhos (RJ) was the institution where the conference was held.
