Initially, the Brazilian delegation met with members of Germanys Ministry of Economy, Science and Technology. Participants were shown the experiences of financial support for companies - especially support mechanisms for startups and for innovation. Then off to London, where the focus was on capital investment and support for innovation. There they visited the Angel Capital Group, the Google Campus and the National Endowment for Science, Technology and Arts (NESTA).
Finally, the mission visited Rome, where they exchanged experiences and discussed difficulties and ongoing programmes in Brazil and in Italy, with representatives from the Italian Ministry of Economic Development. All the knowledge acquired will contribute to the creation of the National Agenda for Development and Competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises, the goal of which is to create measures in support of this sector.
According to Mr. Tiago Pinto de Almeida, the mission was especially crucial for learning about two topics related to small and medium enterprises: "the development of entrepreneurial capabilities and skills and capital market." According to him, several of the public policies analysed in Europe can provide examples for implementation in Brazil.
