The first and pre-qualification phase of the 5th Call for Proposals of the EU-Brazil Sector Dialogues Support Facility was closed on March 12 with the submission of proposals for actions relating to eight Sector Dialogues. The results will be available by March 23.
"Submissions of Action Proposals were made only by those Brazilian partners who could duly prove that the counterpart EU institution is in agreement with the aims of action, through the-so called Seconding Letter", says national Project Director Samuel Antunes Antero.
Eight Brazilian partner institutions submitted proposals: the Ministries of Industry and Commerce (MDIC), of Planning, Budget and Management (MP), of National Integration (MI), of Culture (MinC), of the Environment (MMA), and of Cities; the Human Rights Secretariat of the Presidency (SDH) and the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
The Sector Dialogues that submitted action proposals in this 5th Call are: Environmental Dimension of Sustainable Development, Human Rights, Public Sector Governance, Cultural Policies, Regional Integration Policies, Air Transport, Small and Medium Companies and Urban Mobility Pilot Programme.
The proposed actions submitted for the Sector Dialogues on Small and Medium Companies and Urban Mobility Pilot Programme, if selected, will inaugurate EU-Brazil cooperation on these issues under the Sector Dialogues Support Facility.
In the 5th Call, the Project will contribute a minimum of R$ 30,000 per action and a maximum of R$ 400,000 per Sector Dialogue. The Brazilian counterpart fund corresponds to at least 25% of the total sum contributed.
TOR
The second phase of the 5th Call runs between 26 March and 7 May and comprises the filling in of the Terms of Reference (TOR) by the partners whose proposals selected in the initial stage closed on March 23. The selected actions must be performed between May 28, 2012, and January 31, 2013. It is worth noting that the TORs for actions to be held in May and June 2012 must be submitted at least 45 days before the start of their implementation.
The formalities required by the Project are detailed in the Project Execution Manual in its full and abridged versions.
