From November 20th to 24th, in the cities of Paris (20 and 21) and London (22 to 24), Brazilian experts from the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management (MP) will meet with their peers in the European capitals with the aim of promoting technical cooperation focused exclusively on innovation and transformation projects in public management.
The mission is part of the activities supported by the Sector Dialogues Support Facility – European Union – Brazil, and will be led by Luis Felipe Salim Monteiro, Director of the Modernization Department of Public Management (INOVA) from the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management, and also joined by Joelson Vellozo Junior, project manager in Public Services and Bruno Palvarini, Innovation Advisor, both members of INOVA, from the MP. The aim of this mission will be the promotion and exchange of best practices in public management innovation among all members of the OPSI (Observatory of Public Sector Innovation) platform, as well as visits and strategic meetings with representatives of the French and British governments.
On the 20th and 21st, in Paris, the Innovation in Government: The New Normal event, will address the main OPSI projects with countries that are transforming their operations and improving their citizens' day-to-day lives through innovative solutions. This platform, which brings together projects and best practices in the public sector in a collaborative way, has been developed by OECD (The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) to promote policies that improve the economic and social well being of people around the world.
Joelson Vellozo Junior highlighted: "This mission is a great opportunity to know and share the most innovative solutions from several countries, especially France and the United Kingdom, which are global references in public sector innovation," while also adding, "It will be a true experience in how we transform innovation a more frequent process in our daily lives, bringing special attention to the impacts on people's lives", he concluded.
To continue, in London, from the 22nd to the 24th,, the commission will be attending the 56th Session of the Public Governance Committee, in which Luis Felipe Monteiro will have the opportunity to present some initiatives from Brazil, such as the platform for digital citizenship, which aims to expand and simplify the access of Brazilian citizens to digital public services. In addition, the commission will have also exclusive meetings with British government teams such, as NESTA The Innovation Foundation, a global entity focused on the modernization of Government Digital Services (GDS) area on Digital Innovation projects.
